In Minecraft you play as a little man who travels in a large world made of block-like stones. The game itself doesn't have a great background story or missions that you have to fulfill. Rather, it offers you the possibility to design the world according to your wishes. Just like in a sandbox, you can switch and manage. Accordingly, games in this style are often called sandbox games.
In Minecraft you can interact with any part of the world. This is because the world is divided into small blocks. You walk on earth? Then there's a block of earth underneath you. You would like to have this one? Then take your pickaxe and remove the block. Now you have a block of earth in your inventory, while this one has disappeared in the world.
So you can collect different materials in the whole world and build your own houses out of the blocks. There are no limits to your imagination here. To make sure that the game doesn't become too boring or easy, you'll always encounter small monsters on your exploration tours. To defeat them, you'll first have to make equipment and weapons. This, of course, requires some special blocks as materials. Thus, you'll always be on the lookout for new, rarer blocks and materials, fighting against stronger and stronger monsters, and at the same time building a world completely to your liking.
